Lee Valley Reginal Parks Authority, who we have worked for in excess of 30 years commissioned us to replace a timber boardwalk that was rotten and falling apart, with a recycled timber variant.
As it was a flood plain, work had to be timed right, and safeguards put in place to protect the wild habitat including newts, a badger set and nesting birds.
The project was carried out by one of our longest serving foreman, who probably built the original 30+ years ago as well as most of the pathways and towpaths too!
The boardwalk terminates at a bird watching hide.
Work too just over three weeks from removal of the original unit to completion of the new one, which included a 2 metre wide passing point for wheelchairs at midway point.
